Phenomenon:
- After setting the night vision to "Auto", the screen cannot switch to night vision automatically / still shows color at night.
- The image is purple/pink (severe color cast) or the color is strange.
Possible Reason:
- Image sensor / camera chip abnormality or damage: color channels become abnormal, causing a purple/pink cast.
-
IR(Infrared) night-vision module abnormality (IR LEDs / IR driver / switching circuit): IR does not turn on at night, so the camera cannot enter night vision.
Solution:
1. Confirm the environment is truly “low light”
Test at night or after turning off the lights, ensuring the room is dark enough.
Avoid shining a strong light directly into the camera (e.g., a desk lamp facing the lens), which may prevent auto switching.
2. Check whether the IR(Infrared) switching is working
In a darker environment, move close to the camera and listen carefully. Check whether you will hear a faint “click”? (Some cameras make a small switching sound when entering/exiting night vision.)
3. Check for abnormal overheating
Lightly touch the camera housing (safety note: avoid prolonged touching): Check whether it is hotter than normal (more than mild warmth)?
4. Confirm whether the color cast is “persistent”
Check the image both in daytime and at night. If the purple/pink cast is still severe during the day and remains after a restart/power cycle, please escalate to the after-sales support.
