What is mmWave Radar in Momcozy baby monitor BM08?

What is the radar detects?

The radar can detect tiny, repeated movements from the baby's chest and abdomen caused by breathing and heartbeat-related micro-motion. It is not directly “seeing” the heartbeat on video.

How detection is performed?

The radar sends out low-power mmWave signals and receives the reflected signal from the body. Tiny body movements change the returned signal, and the algorithm estimates breathing and heart-rate trends from those changes.

What is the detection difference between mmWave Radar and camera?

The camera depends on the optical image. The radar depends on its radio-wave sensing area. These two areas can overlap, but they are not always identical.
