Breast Pump:Milk Leakage-M5/M5 Smart/M6/M9/Wellness 1/S9 Pro/S12 Pro/S12 Pro Quick/V1 Pro/V2 Pro/Air 1

Solution

Please identify where the leak is coming from and follow the specific steps below to ensure a proper seal:

Situation 1: Leaking from the Side of the Milk Collector (Assembly Issue)

  • Correct Installation Method: Always fit and seat the soft silicone components (such as the diaphragm or silicone edges) completely flush into place first. Then, press the hard plastic components (like the motor unit or outer frame) down firmly over them to tightly compress and lock the seal.
  • Check for Gaps: Ensure the diaphragm is pressed completely flat against the rim of the milk collector with absolutely no alignment gaps or warped edges before snapping the motor on.

Situation 2: Leaking from the Flange Tunnel / Suction Channel (Flow & Posture Issue)

  • Adjust Suction Levels (Gears): Do not use an inappropriately high suction level. Dynamically adjust the modes and gears to match your current milk let-down and flow rate, preventing milk from backing up and overflowing into the tunnel.
  • Ensure Flange Seal: Verify that the flange (and any insert used) forms a perfect, secure seal against your skin during the entire session to prevent vacuum loss and shifting.
  • Lean Forward 15° Post-Use: Once your pumping session is finished, lean your body forward by 15 degrees before removing the pump. This simple adjustment ensures any residual milk trapped inside the suction channel drains safely down into the milk collector instead of spilling outwards.

Note

If the issue persists under these scenarios:
  • Milk still leaks from the side even though the soft silicone is perfectly sealed under the hard plastic.
  • Leaking occurs from the tunnel despite proper suction adjustment and leaning forward after use.
