Applicable model:

Wellness 1/M5/M5 Smart/M6/M9/S9 Pro/S12 Pro/S12 Pro Quick/V1 Pro/V2 Pro/Air 1

Tip: Pumping should feel like a gentle, rhythmic pulling sensation. It should not feel sharp, burning, pinching, or painful.

Stop using the breast pump and contact a healthcare professional if you experience severe or persistent pain, bleeding, visible nipple damage, breast redness or swelling, fever, or flu-like symptoms.

If pain only occurs during pumping, please try the troubleshooting steps below.

Solution

  1. If you feel pain, reduce the suction level immediately. If the pain continues, turn off the breast pump, gently release the seal, and remove it.
  2. Reposition the breast pump, making sure your nipple is centered in the flange tunnel and can move freely without rubbing against the sides.
  3. Recheck your nipple measurement and make sure you are using the correct flange or insert size. Each breast may require a different size.
  4. Restart at the lowest suction level and increase it gradually only while pumping remains comfortable.
