Breast Pump:Suction Without Release-Wellness 1/M5/M5 Smart/M6/M9/S9 Pro/S12 Pro/S12 Pro Quick/V1 Pro/V2 Pro/Air 1

Tip: The breast pump should create repeated suction-and-release cycles. Stop the breast pump immediately if the nipple remains pulled continuously or pumping causes pain.

Solution

  1. Release the Seal: Turn off the breast pump. Gently insert a finger between the flange and the breast to break the seal before removing the pump. Do not pull the pump directly away from the breast.
  2. Clean and Dry the Parts: Remove the diaphragm and duck bill valve or one way valve, depending on the model. Clean any milk residue or debris from the washable parts and allow them to dry completely.
  3. Reassemble the Parts: Install the diaphragm flat and fully seated. Reinstall the valve, flange, and milk collector securely without gaps.
  4. Restart at a Low Level: Start the breast pump at the lowest suction level and check whether it returns to a regular suction-and-release cycle.
  5. Test Another Accessory Set: Install another clean, dry accessory set and repeat the test. Check whether the issue remains with the breast pump or follows the accessories.
